The Lost Art of Protesting
I have been doing a lot of programming lately so less time of blogging. I have found portablewebap which in 5 mb give you a webserver, php 5, and sqlite database which fits in one folder without any installation so you can take your entire web development environment with you on a pen drive. Very cool to say the least.
But I have been keeping my eye on the political world. A huge protest to keep allowing illegal immigrants into America, and a huge protest in France to keep kids in their 20's from being fired from their jobs. It all took me back to the huge protests before operation Iraqi freedom.
The modern protest movement has inverted the idea of protest. Because none of the protests are advocating change. They are advocating the status quo. So they will only know their protest succeeded if everything remains as it already is. Needless to say its a very very reactionary use of power of populism.
