Bush Wins

I think Bush will have a very successful final two years. Despite everything you read in the NYTIMES Bush is a very liberal president and will work well with Democrat congress. He got the laws passed that protect the CIA and defense dept officials who conducted the ineffective rough interrogation of Al Queda leaders.

Everyone forgets Bush's big wins were when dems controlled the senate. 1.8 trillion dollar tax cut, approval for both wars, NCLB, prescription drug plan.

Here are some of the things I thing Bush will be able to get in 2006-2008

#1 He will get the immigration reform package that the republicans stopped.

#2 He will get tax reform - specifically fixing the AMT

#3 He will not get private accounts for social security but he will get progressive indexing of social security benefits and a increase in the amount of money people can put into IRA's.

#4 There will be an update to NCLB to reduce penalties for not complying and the will end the rule that allows people to send their kids to other schools (so called liberals really hate this). And they will allow people to deduct up to 10K of private school tuition on their federal taxes.

#5 Comprehensive energy bill that gives up drilling in refuge but gives away even more money to energy guys like Clinton's Supercar pork barrel gave money to Detroit.
